So recently I moved out of Salinas California not because I wasn't happy in my lil apartment next to a pond with froggies who sang all night but because there were too many shootings/stabbings/assaults.
I once went to that site that lets you see where crime and criminals live around your address and there were so many stars around my address that it looked like the "Milky Way Galaxy."
So I decided to move and 2 days before I did I was chatting with someone from GM when I heard 3-4 loud gunshots...So I said "I think someone just got killed." When I checked in the morn crime log...There it was one parolee shot multiple times in the chest...Killed 2 blocks from my apartment.
So I said "Screw it gotta move before someone sees me in uniform and takes a shot at me or messes with my car"...Now I'm from rough areas but doesn't mean I want to wait till things get bad...So where does a sassy Hispanic male go to not worry about street violence/crime?
Yup...Where the white people are...As a whole they tend to have quieter, nicer neighborhoods...So tonight, just got in, all tired about to jump in the shower and what happens?...Someone shoots what sounds like a small cannon..Probably a 45 at a house about 500ft from my lil cottage room...Grrrrrr >:(
ANNNND people wonder why I have guns...Silly idiots are spreading all over and can't leave nice areas alone...They try to infect everything...It's unbelievable how many idiots I bump into when I go run errands in the bad part of town.
Luckily I'm tall and have some size so I tend to move easily but sooner o later luck runs out...So sometimes I carry my off duty or a weapon or two but I think it's sad that I have to do that...Be nice to just not worry about getting stabbed or shot at based on mistake identity or (seriously) because of the color of my car (No really...Not making that up).
For those who think I worry too much...I have been shot and stabbed before and trust me they both sucked...Especially the shot in the shoulder thing...I was wearing my favorite black shirt.
